COLLEEN LAVENDER - SCULPTOR

While I strive to create the perfect Horse in Steel there are multiple facets to my Creative Practice. Public Works- Commercial Sculpture, Commissioned pieces, selected Exhibitions and Sharing the studio with students, the common denominator is shaping and sculpting an often tough and durable material. I enjoy the challenge of bringing emotion and movement to my works and teaching others the techniques I love.

My Studio is situated in South Maclean/ Logan Shire Queensland Australia- a mix of old school blacksmithing, plasma cutting, hand shaping and Welding. My personal works often involve the mighty Equine-as a metaphor for the female experience, Tough, Emotive and Resilient.
